Nancy Spungen’s experience as a groupie happened when she went on a journey from Philadelphia to London to keep herself afloat financially.

That led Spungen to the punk scene in the UK, meeting members of The Sex Pistols. When she headed to New York to spend time at the Chelsea Hotel, she died after being stabbed, potentially by Sid Vicious.
