Iran has become the first country to ban Pokémon GO due to security concerns. Pokémon GO now only accesses basic Google profile information (specifically, your User ID and email address). Niantic, the maker of Pokémon GO, has a 20-page privacy policy. It makes you wonder who reads it all before hitting the accept button. The app uses location data, your email address, and camera access, so one concern people have are with hackers. If a person were to hack the app, they might gain account access and be able to see all of this data and view what you’re transmitting with your camera.
