Out of every Joker there has ever been, Heath Ledger’s portrayal of him might have been the best. That is a subjective statement but those who are in comic book community would more than likely confirm it. Batman’s biggest rival, the Joker is a twisted and highly intelligent street thug with no real superpowers but Batman always has a tough time dealing with him.

At the end of The Dark Knight Rises (which was the second installment of the trilogy) The Joker was captured. Sadly, Ledger passed away and he was not able to make an appearance in the third installment as filmmaker Christopher Nolan had planned.
