The Marvel Universe intends to flip the script come November 2021. That's when Thor: Love and Thunder releases, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson. Many comics fans burst with joy upon learning that Thompson's character will be the first LGBTQ superhero!

During a panel at Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego, California, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige verified the rumors that Thompson's Valkyrie will be in an LGBTQ storyline. "The answer is yes," he told Gizmodo. "How that impacts the story remains to be seen with that level of representation you'll see across our films, not in just Thor 4."

If you remember correctly, Thor left Valkyrie to become the king of New Asgard. After she finished helping defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, she resumed her duties as king. During the panel at Comic-Con, Thompson helped get fans even more excited for the upcoming film.

"I think first of all as king, as the new king, she needs to find her queen. That'll be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted," Thompson said to an applauding crowd.

Not only did that statement get people on their feet, but they also learned that Portman is going to become the new Thor. Not only will Thompson's character show the world a different side, but everyone will be able to enjoy Thor as a woman. Marvel is embracing diversity with these moves.
