Lady Comedians Who Should Never Have To Answer The Question, “Are Women Funny?” Again

Jenny Slate is a funny lady with a huge range. She makes us laugh on Kroll Show and Parks and Recreation, but can also carry intricate indie films like Obvious Child and Landline. She’s lent her signature voice to several animated characters, most notably, Marcel the Shell, a seashell with a tiny pair of shoes.

Slate created Marcel with her then-husband, Dean Fleischer-Camp, in 2011. The pair made a short film called, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, a stop-motion short about the cute and shy shell’s hopes and dreams. Read on for a lady whose hair is almost as good as her comedy.
