How A Real ‘Star Wars’ Script Ended Up On eBay
Disney and Lucasfilms usually do an amazing job and making sure that the Star Wars movies aren't spoiled before their release date. They almost ruined it for everyone after a real script for The Rise of Skywalker made it onto eBay after one of the actors made a big mistake.
Director J.J. Abrams appeared on Good Morning America on November 25th and told the story of how the authentic script made it onto the auction website.
"One of our actors, I won't say which one - I want to, but I won’t - left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place. It was then given to someone else who went to sell it on eBay," shared Abrams.
Luckily, an employee of Disney spotted it for sale online and "got it back before it sold."
"With all the security, you have to be careful," said Abrams.
During the interview, he also shared how they used previously unseen footage from The Force Awakens of the late Carrie Fisher to make sure she had an appearance in the finale of the trilogy.
"We needed to have her in the movie somehow. We went back and looked at the footage and realized we could tell the story, we could create scenes with her. It's impossible for me to believe she’s not here," said Abrams. "We've been working with her in the editing room now for almost a year and she’s vital, and she’s there, she’s funny, she’s Leia in this movie. It’s sort of surreal."
The film is set to be released on December 20th and is sure to be a box office hit. They may have stopped the spoilers from a leaked script, but if you're not seeing the film on opening night, then stay off the internet until you do.
