In May 2016, 37-year-old Texan Candace Payne filmed herself in the parking lot of a Kohl’s after purchasing a Star War’s Chewbacca mask. She put it on and instantly broke into uncontrollable laughter. She teased that she was keeping it and that her kids could play with it but it was really her toy.

The video almost instantly went viral and the toy sold out at all Kohl’s locations nationwide. She appeared in many different media appearance, including The Late Late Show with James Corden alongside current Star Wars director J.J. Abrams.
