They Were On A Break! ‘Friends’ Comes Back, But This Time To Theaters
When Netflix announced that Friends would be leaving the streaming service 2020, fans went into a panic. Thankfully, HBO Max will host the popular series once it leaves Netflix. Enthusiasts will get a chance to catch their favorite friends on the big screen starting September 23 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic show.
More than 1,000 theaters in the nation will show four, newly remastered episodes, including exclusive interviews and never before seen footage as well. We'd like to call this "The One Where We Freak Out." The downside is that this will only happen on September 23, 28, and October 2.
"The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright, and the incredibly talented cast," said Warner Bros. Television Group President & Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian.
Gregorian couldn't have said it better. It's a true testament to everyone involved that people still crave the crew that lived in West Village. Not only do the original viewers remain faithful, but new fans sprout up every day.
The episodes folks will get to enjoy will be: Pilot, The One With The Black Out, The One With The Birth, The One Where Ross Finds Out, The One With The Prom Video, The One Where No One's Ready, The One With The Morning After, The One With The Embryos, The One With Chandler In A Box, The One With Ross's Wedding – Part 2, The One Where Everyone Finds Out, The One Where Ross Got High.
