These Gorgeous Ladies Decided To Embrace Their Curly Hair, And The Results Are Breathtaking

Every day, all over the world, women with gorgeous, voluminous curly hair use heat and chemicals to fit into a straight-haired world. I think enough is enough. It’s time for people with curly hair to put away the straight irons and embrace what their mamas gave them (or their papas, those curls can come from anywhere).

Keep reading to see some gorgeous women who have decided to let their hair down. Let them inspire you to do the same.

This lady shaved her head bald nine months ago after having chemically relaxed hair for fifteen years. Now she’s twenty-years-old, and she’s experiencing her natural hair type for the first time.

She says she’s experiencing a whole new part of herself, and she loves it.

This dad went from a guy with no skills to managing these locks with no problem. His daughter can wear her hair down now thanks to helpful advice from internet strangers.

His process: “DevaCurl shampoo and conditioner, comb through with large tooth comb/ fingers, separate into eight sections while applying shea moisture, braided then slept with a satin cap, remoisturized in the morning with water and conditioning spray, unbraid and finger comb to loosen curls.”

This girl was in her senior year of high school in the picture on the left. She hated her curls and her natural hair color. She got a relaxed curl perm, bleached her hair blonde, and straightened it almost every day.

When she started college, she cut back on the straightening and slowly let the perm grow out.

This girl is finally embracing her curls after straightening her hair for ten years. Wondering how she gets her hair to look this good?

She washes it once a week with Clairol Shimmer Lights shampoo, conditions it with Tresemme Perfectly Undone conditioner and styles it with Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Styling Milk.

“Oh Wow, Is That Your Natural Hair?”

I cannot even explain to you how true this is. My hair has been on a journey, and I have heard these comments at least twenty times in my life.

The problem is, when you wear your hair curly all the time and then one day you straighten it, everybody is like, “wow, you should straighten your hair more often.”

A Curly Hair Event

This girl usually straightens her hair, but on the day she took this picture, she went to an event with her natural curls for the first time.

Her hair routine: Shea Moisture Jamaican black castor oil shampoo, DevaCurl one conditioner, a DevaCurl towel, DevaCurl be’leave in, Shea Moisture coconut and hibiscus curl smoothie, Herbal Essences Totally Twisted mousse, squeeze it all with a cotton t-shirt, then diffuse on low heat.

This haircut is the perfect shape. Her routine: shampoo once a week and conditioner two to three times a week. Dry with a cotton t-shirt, apply DevaCurl Super Cream and then let everything air dry for at least thirty minutes before diffusing.

Sometimes humidity can quickly turn a good hair day into a bad one. Not today though. Today the humidity is no match for this girl’s gorgeous curls.

Getting curly bangs to work can be a challenge, too. Cudos to this girl for doing everything right hair-wise.

Is this Disney’s only Scottish princess come to life? What is she doing, just sitting there when she should be firing arrows into the sunset?

I wish my hair was this vibrant and red. I don’t think I could pull off red hair, but I am very jealous of everybody who can.

How to get perfect curly hair according to this lady? Wash your hair in the shower. Then, when your hair is damp, apply Blueberry Bliss leave-in conditioner.

Then use Eco-Styler Agran Oil Gel and rake through your hair with a comb. Diffuse until dry.

This lady cut her long locks into a short bob and she’s never looking back. She said she drank two glasses of wine before her hair appointment, walked into the salon, and said: “do whatever you want.”

I think that’s a pretty brave thing to do, and it definitely paid off.

If you have thin hair, frizz can be a great way to create more volume. A lot of curly haired ladies have thick hair, but if your hair is curly and thin, try embracing your natural frizziness.

This girl looks like she just spent a blissful day at the beach.

This lady promises that this is just a normal picture of her and that it’s not an advertisement for curl products. A lot of people on the internet didn’t believe her, though.

That’s probably because she looks like an actual model and her hair is literally perfect.

This girl figured out that she could air-dry her hair for one hour outdoors when it usually takes her ten hours to air-dry it indoors.

Her mom and her grandmother taught her this trick. They’re the only other Japanese women with curly hair that this girl knows.

This very generous queen of curls cut ten inches of hair off of her head so that she could help make a wig for a child in need.

I would love to receive a wig made from gorgeous curly hair like this. Maybe she’ll grow out her hair again and make another wig.

Picture this: a curly haired girl walks up to a curly haired boy and says, “hi. we have the same hair!” Five years later, they’re in love and looking super fine.

Their kids are going to have the best hair ever. Also, his sweater is amazing. Where can I get one of those?

How old do you think she is? Twenty-five? Thirty-five? Wrong. She’s forty-nine-years-old. Forty-nine!

Those crazy red curls definitely keep her looking young. Forget her hair routine, I need her skincare routine asap. I want to look that good when I’m nearing fifty.

After a decade of straightening her hair every day, this lady’s curly hair finally makes her happy.

I think we need more gorgeous curly haired ladies to show off their locks. When all you see is straight hair, you think only straight hair is beautiful. Curls are beautiful too. If you got ’em, flaunt ’em!
