Happy Gilmore Glamorized Anger Issues

The Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore is packed full of hilarious bits and sticky situations. However, if you pay attention, most of the humor is evoked from Happy’s outbursts of uncontained rage. Yes, it can be funny, but it also gives kids the idea that it’s okay to act angrily if something isn’t going your way.
Happy gets into physical altercations, yells obscenities, and makes a complete fool of himself in public. From being ultra-violent in the hockey rink to throwing golf flags into a crowd, Happy is incapable of controlling his emotions. Kids need to learn that this behavior is unacceptable instead of laughing at it.
People never think twice about Squints’ forcible makeout in The Sandlot.
