While The Bad News Bears is an inspiring tale of underdogs who prove that hard work and dedication can help with any problem, there’s more beneath the surface. The characters in the movie also teach that you can solve your woes with violence, cursing, and being an all-around bad sport.

The film is full of sexism, racism, and sexual innuendos. The theme of the movie is noble, with the potential to teach a good life lesson. But how the team reaches their eventual success is ultimately inappropriate. Although The Bad News Bears can be seen as a comedy later in life, showing it to a child as a lesson probably isn’t the best idea. There are far better role models out there.
