Dominique Sanda started out as a model, before she became a well-known French actress. She fell in love at 16-years old, ran away from home and had a very short-lived marriage. By 18, she was divorced and struggling to survive. Beyond modeling, she starred in The Mackintosh Man (with Paul Newman), Beyond Good and Evil, The Conformist, Steppenwolf, andA Gentle Woman. She also took to the stage in a serious of plays including Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband. She was recognized at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival, as “Best Actress,” for her role in the film The Inheritance.
