He played a heroin addict in The Panic in Needle Park, which later the Casting Director to chose him for the award-winning movie, The Godfather, in 1972. His award-winning prowess included the rare “Triple Crown of Acting,” for winning the Oscar, Emmy and Tony. He was also awarded the four Golden Globe Awards and the Lifetime Achievement and the Lifetime Achievement Award. He famously said, “You need some insecurity if you’re an actor.
