As far as the royal families go, they're never short on fun outfits and costumes. The world loves watching as they dress up with crazy hats for weddings and horse races, not to mention all of the traditional garb they wear during special events.

This time, we're taking a stroll through some of the most fantastic costumes some of our favorite royals have worn throughout the years. Who knows, maybe you'll get some costume inspiration!

We all know him as Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, the royal that married the American actress, but the Prince used to dress-up as this adorable little red goblin for his preschool's Nativity play.

We're really not sure how we're getting "goblin" out of the costume, but we really don't care. Maybe it's the mysterious black patches on the hat that are part of the goblins face? The world may never know!

We're not sure which one is cuter, Prince Harry as the little red goblin in the school play or as a shepherd! Personally, we think he rocks the blue a bit more than the red, but it might just be because of his lovely red hair peeking out from underneath his blue headscarf looks better than a red cap.

Can we also talk about how our hearts are melting at his little hand holding on to his fellow shepherds? Transport us back to this play!

Who doesn't love a young co-ed Prince Harry? Especially one who takes part in Eton College's production of "Much Ado About Nothing?" The Prince looks very much excited about his role in the play, that is, he looks more excited then he did about playing the little red goblin.

We only wish we were there to witness his college stage career! Because is it just us, or does Prince Harry look oddly handsome in that mustard-colored jacked and cape?

So, it is up for debate on whether or not Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is laughing or screaming as her mom tries to help her put on her costume. Honestly, we'd probably be screaming if someone was trying to dress us up like a chandelier. Or maybe she's supposed to be a candelabra?

In either case, we wish we could teleport back to 1984 and ask the little princess what is going on in the picture!

At least we have a picture of the complete ensemble and can kind of gauge what Princess Victoria and her brother Prince Carl Philip were going for with their costumes. If we had to make an educated guess, due to the Princess's hand placement and the Princes' wand, we're going to say they're angels.

Granted, that could be completely inaccurate, and they could very well be dressed up like a candelabra and wizard. At least now we know that the candlesticks were going on her head and no around her neck!

This photo is from December of 1953 and features King Peter of Yugoslavia and his son Prince Alexander. The good news is that there is a reason why they are wearing space suits, it was part of the little Prince's school exhibition at the Horticulture Hall in Westminster, London, called "Wheel of Time."

Historically speaking, the Space Race between the US and the Soviet Union started during 1955, so the King and Prince are a bit ahead of the times with their costume selection!

Nothing says "uncle, I love you," than dressing up as a page-boy for his wedding. Prince Harry is sporting an interesting Edwardian-style pageboy costume while he watched his uncle get married at the Church of St. Mary The Virgin.

The good news is that the Prince was not alone in his outfit. His cousins Eleanor and Alexander were also chosen to wear the fun getup for the nuptials. At least it looks comfortable enough for a small kid.

We're not sure if the two performed in the show, but it sure looks like they're up for the challenge! Even if they weren't part of the performance, their tutus and makeup are giving us serious Halloween inspiration.

You know what they say, "when in Rome". Or, in this case, when in Japan. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, wore a traditional Samuari outfit custom to the Emperor of Japan while visiting the set of a historical television drama at NHK Public Broadcasting Studios.

The Prince looks overly happy to be wearing the ceremonial costume! Can't say we blame him, the headdress is actually quite beautiful, and not to mention he gets to hold a cool sword.

As much as we would like to think so, the hats the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and his son Prince Vincent are wearing are not chefs hats. They are part of the folk costume both Prince's wore during their arrival to Klaksvig, a town in the Faroe Islands.

The Islands are situated between Scotland and Iceland and happen to be part of Denmark. Which makes sense considering the Crown Prince decided to make a visit wearing the traditional outfit of the country!

Per tradition, the British Royal Family has long since served in the military. By the looks of this picture, it seems as though Princess Diana had Prince William and Prince Harry starting their military careers early!

Not that they seem to care. Prince Harry seems content on his mother's lap while Prince William is running around the backyard playing in the plastic house most young kids had lying around the yard somewhere.

We want to take this time to thank the royal family for including the royal pooches in the family photo.

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York dressed-up in "Klondike costumes" for their visit to Fort Edmonton, Canada. We know what you're thinking, they look nothing like ice cream sandwiches. Well, you'd be right. "Klondike costumes" are a reflection of the nineteenth-century expectation of women.

The Dutchess is definitely owning the electric blue color of that ruffled dress but we will never understand the need for a cane. Why have a prop if you don't actually need to use it?

Prince Charles and Princess Diana attended the barbeque at For Edmonton, Canada, dressed in traditional Klondike attire, too. Considering it's a BBQ, we're curious as to why everyone is dressed up to their nines. Are shorts and blouses too casual for an outdoor picnic? Dress codes are definitely different when you're a royal.

Alas, if Princess Di thought it was okay to dress up like Little Bo Peep, then who are we to question the fashionista.

If these two aren't the talk of the party we're fairly certain we'll need to see pictures of the rest of the attendees. Also, can someone please tell us if her dress is made with real gold thread?!

King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden's 25th wedding anniversary celebration must have been renaissance themed because there is no other reason for Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine to look like fairies.

We can't help but admire the intricacy of each of their dresses. Low key, they look a bit more comfortable than Queen Margareta's! That being said, I don't think the Queen would be caught dead wearing either one of the Princess' costumes.

It looks like Maxima Zorroquieta missed the renaissance-dress memo for the 25th wedding anniversary! Her fiance, Crown Prince Willem of Holland, must have kept the invitation dress-code from her because he brought out all the stops with this bright red and yellow feathered hat!

We'll let his mother, Queen Beatrix of Hollands' outfit slide, only because it reminds us of something that Elizabeth Swan from Pirates of the Caribbean would wear. Before she turned into a pirate, that is.
