Eric Clapton was successful in multiple bands such as the Bluesbreakers, Cream, The Yardbirds, and Blind Faith before he decided to record under his own name come 1969. It got decent, but not great, ratings from critics because of a “conceptual error.” We can assume they thought his skills were there but weren’t satisfied with the overall album. Well, the trauma he faced when he was young may have made him invincible to any critics.

He had many traumas as a lad but the most bizarre one is when he was nine years old and found out who his mother really was. The person he believed to be his sister was actually his mother the whole time.
