They Overcame Rocky Childhoods

The man that brings magic to your ears when he gets on those piano keys had a traumatic childhood. Ray Charles had the fate of witnessing something no one should ever have to see. He had glaucoma so he didn’t lose his sight completely until he was seven but it was gradually going away.

At the age of five, Charles witnessed his own brother drown in a laundry tub and he was just four years old. Imagine not having that many memories of when you actually could see and when you do go blind, visions of your brother drowning fill your head.
