Following her Golden Globes speech, fans got very excited about a potential run for Winfrey. Two friends told CNN that the star was “actively thinking” about running. Her longtime partner Stedman Graham and best friend Gayle King also fueled political rumors. President Trump, obviously aware of her popularity, then called her “very insecure.” He tweeted: “Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!” When Winfrey heard about his comment, she told Ellen DeGeneres: “I woke up and I just thought, I don’t like giving negativity power, so I just thought, ‘What?’”
