Susan Sarandon Is Politically Involved Yet Very Polarizing
Susan Sarandon is a native of New York City. She started acting in the ’70s but really shot to stardom when she appeared in 1988 film Bull Durham alongside Kevin Costner. Sarandon is very politically active and is a well-known liberal. In 1999, she was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. In 2006 she received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award and was appointed an FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2010. Her views are very polarizing and she was criticized in 2011 for using the word “Nazi” to describe Pope Benedict XVI. You either love her or hate her for her opinions.
