These Celebrities Are Turning 70 In 2019
I'm going to say it, people. 70 is the new 50, and most of these celebrities don't look 70 at all. I guess that's what happens when you're living in Hollywood and you can afford all of the best beauty treatments that Los Angeles has to offer.
These celebs have definitely aged gracefully, well, most of them have anyway. Keep reading to find out which of your favorite celebrities are a little bit older than you thought. Are you feeling old yet?
Meryl Streep
Can you believe that Meryl Streep is going to be 70 years old? Her face just seems so timeless to me. Meryl will turn 70 on June 22, 2019. She's been a working actress since 1969, and has been nominated for more Academy Awards than anyone in history.
She's won three Oscars so far, one for Kramer vs. Kramer, one for Sophie's Choice, and one for The Iron Lady. There are probably a few more Academy Award nominations in her future.
Richard Gere
Some part of me feels like Richard Gere has always been 70 years old. I just feel like he always had that silver fox thing going on. Did you know that Richard Gere's middle name is Tiffany? Well, you know now.
Like Streep, Gere has also been a professional actor since 1969. He's won a Golden Globe award and a Screen Actors Guild award. He's been pretty outspoken about his liberal politics, and he was even banned from being a presenter at the Academy Awards for denouncing the Chinese government while announcing the nominees in 1993.
Bruce Springsteen
Even though The Boss is turning 70 on September 23rd, 2019, he'll always be a rebellious teenager at heart. Bruce Springsteen is New Jersey's greatest export. Not only is he a fantastic singer and songwriter, but he's also a family man.
Bruce married his bandmate Patti Scialfa in 1991. They have three children together, Evan James Springsteen, Jessica Rae Springsteen, and Sam Ryan Springsteen. His daughter Jessica is actually a show jumping champion rider.
Jeff Bridges
Jeff Bridges has a late birthday, so he won't turn 70 until December 4th, 2019. He basically has a whole year of being 69 left, which I'm sure he appreciates. Jeff Bridges has been nominated for an Academy Award seven times, and he won an Oscar in 2009 for his role in Crazy Heart.
You probably know Jeff best as "The Dude" from the cult classic Coen Brothers film, The Big Lebowski.
Pam Grier
Pamela Suzette "Pam" Grier will turn 70 in May of 2019. She's an American actress who became famous in the early 1970s after starring in a string of moderately successful women in prison and blaxploitation films. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her work in Quentin Tarantino's film Jacki Brown.
Grier is also known for her work on television. She played Kate "Kit" Porter on The L Word for 6 seasons.
Jessica Lange
Jessica Lange will turn 70 on April 20th, 2019. She's been a working actress since 1976. Lange dated ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov from 1976–1982 and they have one son together. She also had two children with playwright Sam Shepard before she and Shepard separated in 2009.
Lange has earned the Triple Crown of Acting, winning two Academy Awards, one Tony Award, three Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, one Critics Choice Award, and three Dorian Awards.
Sigourney Weaver
Sci-Fi Queen Sigourney Weaver will turn 70 on October 8th, 2019. She's been nominated for a Golden Globe seven times, and in 1988, she became the first person to win two acting Golden Globes in the same year.
Sigourney has been married to stage director Jim Simpson since 1984. They have one daughter together. Weaver is best known for her roles in the Alien series, Ghostbusters, and Avatar. She seems to have an affinity for all things otherworldly.
Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn Jenner will turn 70 on October 28th, 2019. Caitlyn looks pretty young for almost 70, but then again, she's had a lot of work done. It's good work, don't get me wrong. I think it looks as natural as it possibly could.
I can only imagine that she is going to throw a huge 70th birthday party— or maybe one of her daughters will throw a party for her.
Billy Joel
Billy Joel will turn 70 on May 9th, 2019. Billy Joel's sound has become iconic. You can always recognize a Billy Joel song on the radio. Can you believe that he's been on the radio since 1965? This piano man has been singing us songs for over 50 years.
There's something about a Billy Joel song that just puts a smile on your face. I hope he keeps singing well into his 70s.
Gene Simmons
Gene Simmons will turn 70 on August 25th, 2019. You probably know him best as a singer and a bassist in the band Kiss. Gene is Israeli and his birth name is Chaim Witz. Gene is a proud supporter of Israel and has traveled there many times.
He met his now wife, Shannon Tweed, in 1983 and they've been together ever since. They have two children together, a son named Nick and a daughter named Sophie.
Ric Flair
Wrestler Ric Flair will turn 70 on February 25th, 2019. He was born Richard Morgan Fliehr and now that he's retired from wrestling, he works as a professional wrestling manager.
Ric has been married five times, most recently to Wendy Barlow on September 12th, 2018. You'd think that after four failed marriages, he'd be reluctant to get married again at age 69. I guess this guy is just into the pain.
Don Johnson
Donald Wayne Johnson will turn 70 on December 15th, 2019. He is an American actor, producer, director, singer, and songwriter. He's probably most famous for playing the role of James "Sonny" Crockett in the 1980s television series Miami Vice. Don Johnson won a Golden Globe for his work on that show.
He also played Nash Bridges in the 1990s cop series Nash Bridges. He's been married 5 times, and two of those times were to Melanie Griffiths.
Lionel Richie
Lionel Richie will turn 70 on June 20th, 2019, but really he doesn't look a day over 45. Lionel has been making music for us since 1968. He has three children (including Nicole Richie) and he became a grandfather when Nicole and Joel Madden had a baby girl in 2008.
Nicole Richie is not Lionel's biological daughter. She was the daughter of one of Lionel's bandmates (and drummer Sheila E.'s niece). Lionel and his then-wife Brenda Harvey adopted her and raised her as their own daughter.
George Foreman
Whether you know George Foreman as a boxer or as a grill maker, you definitely know him. George Foreman will turn 70 on January 10th, 2019. Foreman has been married to his current wife since 1985, but before that, he was married four other times.
He has 12 children, five of whom are named George. He has a daughter named Georgetta, and some luckier daughters who aren't named some female version of George.
Sissy Spacek
Sissy Spacek is an acting powerhouse. She's been acting professionally since 1970, and she will turn 70 on Christmas Day, 2019. She's been a force in Hollywood since she was a young girl, and she's only gotten better with age.
Sissy has been married to her husband, Jack Fisk, since 1974, which is an unusually long time for people in the business. They have two daughters together, Schuyler and Madison.
Ivana Trump
Ivana Trump was the first wife of our now president (that still feels weird to say), Donald J. Trump. She will turn 70 on February 20th, 2019. In 2008, Ivana married Rossano Rubicondi (he was 36 at the time and she was 59).
The wedding cost $3 million and it was hosted by none other than Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Ivana and Rossano have had an on-again-off-again relationship ever since.
Tom Waits
Tom Waits will turn 70 on December 7th, 2019. He's an American singer-songwriter and actor. During the 1970s, he mostly played jazz, but since the 1980s his music has leaned more towards blues, vaudeville, and experimental genres.
Waits lives in Sonoma County, California, with his wife and frequent collaborator, Kathleen Brennan. They have three children together. After he married and had children, Tom became way more private about his personal life.
Shelley Long
Shelley Long will turn 70 on August 23rd 2019. She's best known for playing Diane Chambers on the hit sitcom Cheers. She received five Emmy nominations for the role, and won an Emmy in 1983. She also won two Golden Globe awards for her work on Cheers.
In 2009, she began playing a recurring role as DeDe Pritchett on the ABC comedy series Modern Family. Shelley has one daughter from her marriage to Bruce Tyson.
Anna Wintour
Anna Wintour has been the editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988. She's also the inspiration behind Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada.
Wintour is also a philanthropist. She serves as a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where she has organized benefits (including the MET Gala) that have raised $50 million for the museum's Costume Institute. She has also raised over $10 million for AIDS charities since 1990, by putting together various high-profile events.
Steve Perry
Stephen Perry is best known as the lead singer of the rock band Journey. He will turn 70 on January 22nd, 2019. Perry was a member of Journey during their most commercially successful periods from 1977 to 1987, and again from 1995 to 1998.
He also had a successful solo career between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. Perry is known for his stellar vocal abilities and has even been nicknamed "The Voice."
Bonnie Raitt
Bonnie Lynn Raitt is an American blues singer-songwriter and slide guitar player. She will turn 70 on November 8th, 2019. During the 1970s, Raitt released a series of albums that fused elements of blues, rock, folk, and country.
She released her most famous album, Nick of Time, in 1989. She released several hit singles, including "Something to Talk About", "Love Sneakin' Up On You", and the ballad "I Can't Make You Love Me". Raitt has won 10 Grammy Awards.
Jim Broadbent
British actor Jim Broadbent will turn 70 on May 24th, 2019. If you're under the age of 30, you probably know Jim Broadbent best as Horace Slughorn from the Harry Potter series. Before he ever stepped foot in Hogwarts, Jim Broadbent was in movies like Moulin Rouge!, Iris, and Nicholas Nickleby.
Broadbent has been married to painter and former theatre designer Anastasia Lewis since 1987. They don't have any children.
Lindsey Buckingham
Lindsey Adams Buckingham is a singer and songwriter best known as the guitarist and male vocalist of the musical group Fleetwood Mac. He's considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Lindsey will turn 70 on October 3rd, 2019.
Lindsey's former bandmate and romantic partner Stevie Nicks is one year older than him. She turned 70 in May of last year. Lindsey Buckingham is still making music for our listening pleasure.
Haruki Murakami
Haruki Murakami is a Japanese author best known for writing A Wild Sheep Chase, Norwegian Wood, Kafka on the Shore, and IQ84. Steven Poole of The Guardian praised Murakami as "among the world's greatest living novelists" for his works and achievements.
Murakami will turn 70 on January 12th, 2019. Murakami also has a passion for listening to music, especially classical and jazz. At one time he wanted to be a musician, but he decided to become a writer because he wasn't very good at playing musical instruments.
Annie Leibovitz
Annie Leibovitz is one of America's most famous photographers. She became famous for her portrait work, and her photography has been used for many well known album covers and magazines.
In 1991, she became the first woman to put on an exhibit at Washington's National Portrait Gallery. Leibovitz had a close relationship with writer and essayist Susan Sontag from 1989 until Sontag's death in 2004. They were something in between lovers and friends.
Patrick Duffy
Patrick Duffy will turn 70 on March 17th, 2019. Duffy is an American actor, best known for playing Bobby Ewing on the CBS primetime soap opera, Dallas. He is also well known for his role on the ABC sitcom Step by Step, playing Frank Lambert from 1991 to 1998, and for his role as Stephen Logan on the CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
Basically, Duffy's done a lot of soap operas.
Veronica Cartwright
Actress Veronica Cartwright will turn 70 on April 20th, 2019. As a child actress, Veronica appeared in movies such as The Children's Hour and The Birds.
She is perhaps best known for her roles in the science fiction films Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which came out in 1978, and Alien, which came out in 1979. She's been married three times, most recently to Richard Compton who died in 2007.
Erik Estrada
Henry Enrique "Erik" Estrada was born on March 16th, 1949, which means that he's going to turn 70 in a matter of months. Estrada is an American actor, voice actor, and police officer known for his co-starring lead role as officer Francis Llewelyn "Frank" Poncherello in the police drama television series CHiPs, which ran from 1977 to 1983.
Estrada has one daughter, Francesca Natalia, who was born in 2000. She is an aspiring actress.
Wolfgang Puck
Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will turn 70 on July 8th, 2019. This man is at the top of his game right now. He's catered several high profile events (including some very important award shows) and he's had several successful restaurants.
Just thinking about Wolfgang's food is making me hungry. Puck has published several cookbooks and he's been on the Food Network too many times to count. He makes 70 look very, very good.
Rick Springfield
Rick Springfield, born Richard Lewis Springthorpe, will turn 70 on August 23rd, 2019. He is an Australian singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, actor, and author. He won a Grammy Award for his performance of his hit song Jessie's Girl, which reached number 1 in Australia and in the U.S.
His other hit songs include "I've Done Everything for You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Affair of the Heart" and "Love Somebody." He became an American citizen in 2006.
