John Cleese – Monty Python’s Flying Circus

John Cleese is a well-known member of the Monty Python troupe, yet by the third season of the show Monty Python’s Flying Circus, he had left the series. He believed that the show had been on a downward spiral since season two, and wanted to leave in order to do his own thing. He also said that many of the sketches weren’t as good as they could have been, some of the Pythons were hard to work with, as well as other issues with the way the show was run. He was just essentially burned out from being in so many Monty Python productions.
