Robert Reed – The Brady Bunch

One of America’s favorite father figures was Robert Reed. He played the father in The Brady Bunch and although he seemed happy-go-lucky in the series, that was for sure not the case when the cameras were off. He would talk about his dislike of the show in public and even act difficult on set. Reed would write sarcastic memos to the producer of the show and change dialogue as well.

It is reported that he only stayed on the show because he was close to the cast. When he reviewed the show talking about his feelings he said, “it was just as inconsequential as can be” and scoffed at the juvenile and ridiculous plot lines. Ouch! Tensions were so high on the set between Reed and producer Sherwood Schwartz that he was actually written out of what was ultimately the shows final episode.
