Back at her father’s church, where all of Aretha’s talents were cultivated, she released her very first album at the age of 14. Thanks to her connections to the gospel style of music within her father’s church, she released an album titled “Songs of Faith,” which was simply a collection of gospel songs.
This was the first step in her long journey to superstardom in the Detroit area. While her music career was just starting, it would be a few years before she finally broke through to the mainstream.
