While the legendary performer was self-taught on the piano before studying at the Juilliard School of Music years later, thanks to her years of dedication to the music industry, she was awarded two honorary doctorates of music from Berklee College and Yale University. Of course, Berklee is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world.
This is even more impressive considering the famed singer was a high school dropout. She also received an honorary doctorate from New York University back in 2014.
