Directed by James Marsh, The Theory of Everything was released in 2014 and is a biographical film about the life of Stephen Hawking. The film was adapted by Anthony McCarten from the memoir Traveling to Infinity: My Life With Stephen by Jane Hawking.

The film stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones and was first shown at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival. The film was well-received and even won Eddie Redmayne the Academy Award for Best Actor. The film went on to win numerous other awards and recognition such as British Academy Film Awards and Screen Actor Guild Awards.
