When it comes to the future of our existence and our planet, Stephen Hawking was convinced that we need to focus on the colonization of other planets if we ever want to ensure our future. He believes that a planet-wide disaster would surely be the end of us as long as we remain on Earth.

He also warned us that aliens likely exist, but that we should be trying to avoid them rather than working to contact them. He warns that aliens might come to Earth to take our resources. in 2010, he said that “If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans.”
