He Plans on Giving Most of His Fortune to Charity When He Dies

In 2010, Ted was named “among 40 billionaires pledging half or more of their fortune to charity through ‘The Giving Pledge’ campaign.” So will any of his children inherit his vast fortune? According to a 1990’s report from the New York Times, Ted planned on creating trusts for his five kids, and upon their deaths, the remaining funds would go to the Ted Turner Foundation.

While it appeared he was planning on giving his children financial stability, when the philanthropist signed the “Giving Pledge” a few years later, he noted that “at the time of my death, virtually all my wealth will have gone to charity.”
