Martha Stewart Is Not Quite The Homemaking Maven We Think She Is…
Martha Stewart’s Takes On Wall Street
Martha Stewart
Stewart took on Wall Street with a short-lived career as a stockbroker, landing a position with Monness, Williams, and Sidel in 1967 despite the fact that she had no formal training. Stewart reportedly thrived at that small firm and was driven by the fast-paced sales environment and the handsome six-figure salary, which gave Stewart the business sense that she would utilize later in life. Unfortunately, 1973 was met with an economic downturn that led to Stewart ceasing her position at the firm and leaving behind the world of high finance — for the time being. Afterward, Stewart continued to look for a new career.
