Martha Stewart Signs A Big Deal With Time Warner

Martha Stewart made her television hosting debut in 1986 with Holiday Entertaining with Matha Stewart, a public television special that was so successful, it was later distributed as a mail-order video. Around this time, Stewart capitalized on her fame by conceiving a lifestyle magazine based on her books and in 1991 signed a 10-year contract with Time Warner for her new magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and all of its spin-off programs. The deal also gave her regular airtime on NBC’s The Today Show, which only solidified Martha Stewart’s status as a household name.
