Actress Katherine Heigl and musician Josh Kelley married in 2007 after meeting on the set of his music video. In 2009, the two adopted a daughter from South Korea they named Nancy Leigh. Katherine also has an adoptive sister from South Korea, which is why they chose to adopt from that country.

The baby had a heart defect and had to undergo open heart surgery before returning home to the United States. In 2012, they adopted a second daughter from the United States named Adelaide. In 2016, Katherine announced that she was pregnant and gave birth in 2017 to son Joshua.
