Has Drake Finally Taken Things Too Far?
The Toronto Raptors have one of the most popular Global Ambassadors ever. The New York Knicks have Spike Lee, Will Smith stands with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Raptors have Drake. On May 21, 2019, the Canadian rapper may have rubbed the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks the wrong way.
One thing's for sure: he did rub someone! At one point during the blowout victory between the Bucks and the Raptors, Drake walked up to the Toronto coach and gave him a shoulder massage as to tell him 'good job.' He paced the sidelines as if he was the head coach, laughed at Giannis Antetokounmpo after the star missed his free throws, and many other shenanigans.
The most critical thing Drake did was agitate the Bucks coach, Mike Budenholzer, who claimed the Canadian native received special treatment.
"I will say, again, I see it in some timeouts, but I don't know of any person that's attending the game that isn't a participant in the game a coach -- I'm sorry, a player or a coach, that has access to the court," Budenholzer said, according to ESPN. "You know, to be on the court, there's boundaries and lines for a reason, and like I said, the league is usually pretty good at being on top of stuff like that."
He wasn't the only one to share his thoughts, as Antetokounmpo's former agent also chimed in on the antics. "Never seen anything as disrespectful as this before," Georgios Dimitropoulos wrote in a since-deleted tweet. Drake responded in the most Drake way possible by posting an image on his Instagram story. It was a quote of a message that said, "if you don't want the opposing team to celebrate and dance, prevent them from winning." Perhaps the Bucks are starting to become worried that they might lose the series after starting with two consecutive wins before losing two in a row.
