Sure, we see these chefs on the shows make tons of delicious looking food. On the contest shows, however, that tasty looking cuisine is not eaten fresh from the oven after it gets plated. That version of the food ends up tossed away in the trash.

A different type of the dish gets explicitly cooked for tasting. After only two or three bites, it gets trashed again. Many of the plates you see on TV aren’t edible. They’re sprayed with chemicals so that they can look better and last longer.
