Beyoncé Gets Emotional At Tyler Perry’s New Studio Opening
Tyler Perry has opened a new movie studio space in Atlanta. He has named the 12 sound stages on the property after iconic Black performers. To celebrate the opening of the 330-acre studio he held a gala event, which was attended by Oprah, Halle Berry, and, of course, Beyoncé.
Beyoncé has revealed that she "could not stop crying" while attending the opening of the studio. She shared a number of photos of herself and her husband, Jay-Z, at the grand opening on social media.
"Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios. I could feel our ancestors' presence," wrote Beyoncé. "Generations of blood, sweat and tears, success, excellence and brilliance. It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying. Thank you my Virgo brother for so much love and passion put into every detail. My prayer today is that you will take it all in. You inspire me to dream even bigger."
Perry's new studio is one of the largest in the United States. The large property previously served as a Confederate army base during the Civil War. Perry became the first African-American to open his own movie studio when he started Tyler Perry Studios back in 2006.
