Angelina Jolie Can’t Move Abroad With Her Kids Because Of Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie has always been a woman that appreciates travel and experiencing other cultures. She even wants to move abroad with her children, but there's one thing stopping her: her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The actress gave a very candid interview about parenting to Harper's Bazaar for their December issue. She revealed that she plans to move abroad in seven years, once her youngest children, 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, turn 18.
"I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now I'm having to base where their father chooses to live [in Los Angeles]," said Jolie.
The actress does have several homes around the world and is even building a house in Africa next year.
"My favorite place is somewhere I've never been. I like to be dropped into the middle of something new. I enjoy being out of my element. I want the children to grow up in the world - not just learning about it but living it and having friends around the world," said the actress.
She also opened up about how strong her kids have been and how she's been able to find her true self.
"My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it. They have been through a lot. I learn from their strength," she said. "As parents, we encourage our kids to embrace all that they are, and all that they know in their hearts to be right, and they look back at us and want the same for us."
I think kids need to be able to say, 'Here's who I am, and what I believe.' We can’t prevent them from experiencing pain, heartache, physical pain, and loss," she continued. "But we can teach them to live better through it."
Jolie is a mother of six so we can imagine it can be pretty tough juggling parenting with fame through a very public divorce. Hopefully, she and Pitt maintain a positive relationship for the sake of the kids.
